The Initiative

WHAT IS TERRITORIAL FUTURES?

Territorial Futures is a transdisciplinary initiative that articulates applied research, methodology development, analytical tools, and strategic projects to support decision-making in territorial planning, in the face of climate change scenarios and other transformations of socio-ecological systems.

Its approach is based on the anticipation of possible futures, integrating science and applied tools to address uncertainty and support informed decisions in dynamic contexts.

The initiative specializes in the study of complex socio-ecological systems — both terrestrial and marine-coastal — addressing the interaction between natural, economic, and human capital in territories.

Territorial Futures acts as an articulating platform for expert networks, promoting collaboration among researchers, institutions, and territorial stakeholders. Its flexible structure allows the development of applied solutions, tools, and projects that contribute to public policy design, strategic planning, and sustainable territorial management.

Territorial Futures is an initiative of the Faculty of Engineering and Sciences at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, developed under the Center for Earth and Space.
